Everything Steady Harbour Learning publishes, including the Private Investor's Risk Playbook, our lessons, and this website, is general financial education. It is written for Singapore households as a whole, not for your specific situation, goals, or holdings.

Not licensed advisers

We hold no licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to provide financial advisory services, and we do not offer them. We do not tell anyone what to buy, sell, or hold, and nothing we publish should be read as such a recommendation, directly or indirectly.

Risk is real

All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of some or all of your capital. Markets can fall quickly and recover slowly, and sometimes they do not recover within the timeframe you were counting on. Any figures we use, including the loss-and-recovery arithmetic in our Materials, are illustrations of general mathematical relationships, not forecasts or promises about any particular market.

Past and hypothetical examples

References to historical events, such as market episodes of 2008 or 2020, are teaching aids. They describe what happened once, not what will happen next. Hypothetical scenarios in our worksheets are simplified by design.
